UCLA Made History with over 100,000 College Applications

This year, the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) became the first college in history to receive over 100,000 college applications.

UCLA broke numerous college admissions records after receiving over 5,000 more student applications—a 5% increase from last year. The largest increase in applications came from in-state California students, representing an 8% increase from last year.

This is a shocking number. UCLA represents a larger trend in college admissions that is taking place across the country. Each year, a greater number of students apply to top colleges—both from the United States and around the world.

This trend is causing a dramatic increase in selectivity at many of the top colleges.

As top colleges become more selective, Application Positioning™ becomes even more important to ensure a student stands out in the applicant pool to maximize their chance of acceptance.
